That's the IEC Serial port, not the User-port. The User-port is the wide one on the far left on the C64. The one which was usually used for Modems back in the days, or WiFi modems nowadays. I am sure you already know this and are just brain farting all over the place. But there are newer generations of C64 users out there, who are confused enough as it is with these old relics. - Yeah, and by that, I guess I mean both us and the C64s 😅

Hey There! I am hoping you (or one of your other viewers) can answer a quick question about the basic monostable circuit. What is the output voltage (pin 3) when the output is "high"? I see conflicting answers online. Some say it is 1.5V and others say it is VCC minus 1.5V (or 2V in some cases). Thanks in advance!

“This back is ribbed for someone’s pleasure, but not mine” omggggg 😭😂😂😂😂😂😂 hilarious! Now, someone needs to make the replacement rollers SNAP IN instead of slide on. I just spent well over 4 hours doing this 😂 The roller on the right side (power side) was hard to push through to pull it out, so I used my Philips screwdriver and scraped some of the plastic off and I was able to get it through (I saw someone said they sanded it lol I was too impatient to try that) ANDDD I was able to put BOTH of the circlips on with a little patience! (*pats myself on my back*) THANK YOU FOR THE TUTORIAL!

Wow what a trip down memory lane. Any time my mom wanted to go to the mall she could bring me and let me loose knowing I'd be in one of 3 places, the arcade, the hobby shop or the back of radio shack. Loved the back of radio shack. I have all these notebooks and probably built 1 circuit from all of them lol. Great idea making the pcbs, love it!

Haha, I love the idea of making PCB's for them all like that! I have that book from when I was younger lol. I actually have built every circuit in that book and few of the other books. But I did end up buying nice large experiment board for doing all them (haha, still use it for Arduino and such now). Be cool have PCB with a cut out of the pages in a frame (but would have to find another book, not cutting my book up lol). Then of course use battery and have button on the front of the frame or something to run it lol. Ideas!! lol

I really miss the Radio Shack of the 70s and 80s. I used to set in the back of the store and play with their model 1 TRS-80. I had one at the house, but I still enjoyed the people standing around me watching me program. I love this video and I am a new subscriber! Extremely well explained. The terminals can also be replaced by ones that are spring loaded. Also, variable capacitors and pots could be used, but I'm sure you already though of that. Videos like these should be also children friendly for the way you explain the circuits.

I still have my copy. For some reason, hand drawn diagrams make learning easier. Similarly, I find that making diagrams with pencil in a large notepad is the best way to develop a design. Which a few generations are now unaware of. It engages the brain in a particular way. I just drew up a diagram of an ESP32 cluster topology a few days ago. Although it was all in my head, it is so much clearer what must be done if I make a multi-colour diagram. And it is much faster than using computer graphics.
